Almost all of us multi-task during meetings. And if you meetings seem to go on forever, you are not alone! Get yourself on the bandwagon to create meetings, because meetings will make the most of your day. <evil villain noises>
Meeting organizers – If you really want to set up meetings that everyone will be excited to be part of, send out meeting invites with a short subject line “Sync Up”. Keep the suspense on, with nothing in the agenda or the body of the meeting. Absolutely nothing. You don’t to give away your most important secret. And if you are a manager or person of some authority – even better. So many times my manager has sent a meeting request with the “Sync up” in the subject line – I keep wondering if he did find out that I broke something, before I did.
Here’s another one. Again, if you’re a big shot, you set up a status meeting of completely unrelated projects. Completely unrelated is key here. Call your managers, and have them present their project statuses, and ask for an opinion from a completely random guy. Why is this so good? Because none of the attendees care about the other projects going on. And they don’t know when they will be called. So they cannot even be multi tasking
